Get to know ZredT's Founders: Judy, Doren & Deborah

 

 

Judy: I'm the old one of the group. Deborah is my husband's baby sister. I've known her since she was six years old.

Deborah: We're more sisters than sisters-in-law.

Judy: I met my husband in 7th grade. I looked at him and that was that. It was love at first sight.

Deborah: I just thought you needed to get your eyes checked.

Judy: (Laughing) We got married when I was 18, we've been married for 45 years, and I still love the little jackass.

Doren: That's good, because nobody else wants Daddy.

Judy: Don't pick on my baby.

Doren: I'm the daughter, Judy's the mother, and Aunt Deborah's the boss.

Deborah: I wouldn't say I'm the boss.

Judy: Well, you're the head of ZredT. And you do a good job with it.

Deborah: Business with family can be a lot of drama.

Judy: Yes it can. You'd better love them if you're going to start a business with them, that's for sure. I'm in the background at ZredT, and that suits me fine.

Doren: Aunt Deborah and I have our moments, too, but she keeps me grounded. She's had her own business before this for years, and she knows how to get through situations, and how to handle things the best way. She stays calm.

Deborah: Doren gets hyper sometimes.

Judy: That's because I have a perfect daughter in an imperfect world. When Doren says she's going to do something, she does it right then, and she doesn't understand that other people don't always do it that way.

Doren: Thank goodness we make such a calming product, right Mama? It's the part of my job that's good to bring home with me. In fact, at the end of a stressful day, I like sit on my porch, drink a ZT, and just watch the ducks swim around the lake in back of my house. It's a great way to unwind.

Deborah: And what's your favorite flavor?

Doren: Unsweetened.

Deborah: Wrong answer.

Judy: Oh, that's right. You love your Vanilla.

Deborah: I show horses competitively, and it's hot and sweaty work. There is nothing like an ice cold Vanilla ZT right out of the fridge in the middle of all that. It is so thirst-quenching.

Judy: Well, my favorite is Ginseng & Honey. I like drinking it while sitting on the beach under a big old umbrella, just watching the waves come in.

Deborah: Wrong answer.

Doren. Not everybody's like you, Aunt Deborah.

Judy:  Good thing, too. We'd only sell one flavor!
